“May there always be Tradewinds behind you, Rainbows above you, and Aloha all around you.”
— Kauai Blessing
And with these words in mind I returned to Kauai after a hiatus of seventeen years. Way too long. The island of Kauai shall remain my favorite island, it being one of the ‘smaller’ main islands (the actual state of Hawaii consists of 137 volcanic islands spanning an area of about 1500 miles). This island is less traveled than the other main islands. Less roads as well. Just make sure you plan enough time to head back to the airport. Tree trimming happens throughout the entire year.

Waterfalls & Lakes
Waterfalls will always be a favorite to take photos off. The photos below are taken at various places on the island.
Flora
Waimea Canyon State Park
Also dubbed the ‘Grand Canyon of the Pacific’, this cannot be called just a ‘park’. It is way more than that. Sentences cannot be used to describe the beauty of this area.
Na Pali Coast
This beautiful landscape deserves special attention. No roads lead to this area, only accessible by boat or plane (but on this day the air was void of loud helicpters).

Mahalo for these memories, made my final trip to Paradise recently and my heart hurts. Your photos touch so many of my favorite spots even hitting ( I believe ) Port Allen. Great job DJ RoaM
Thanks Julia! Port Allen indeed after a beautiful boat trip to Na Pali Coast.
