Of course, most people what this city is famous for. Other than that, this city is very charming.

Needless to say is that we visited the grounds and the museum that revolves around the atomic bombing.

The only surviving building of the atomic explosion used to be a bank building. These days it is known as the A-bomb Dome.

Time stands still. The atomic explostion in Hirosima took place at 8:15am.

Days after the explosion. Hiroshima would never be as it ever was, but became a momument against nucleair weapons.

A few of the many school children that were on a day trip to this place. Always eager to ask questions, at one point I had to avoid these kids. They seemed to ask the same three questions (which I have forgotten by now).

Hiroshima Castle.

These vending machines are life saver in the heat and humidity of any Japanese summer.

Hiroshima was founded in the delta of the Ota river. This is one of its branches.

Anime series ‘One Piece’ has even Shinkansen trains dedicated to them.
