Kyoto, Japan

It does not take a lot for a city to be less crowded than Tokyo, and Kyoto is a perfect example of that.

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

Walking here makes you forget that you’re still close to a big city.

It is time to head back. Shall we?

Temples, shrines and…

Can’t really miss visiting the Fushimi Inari Shrine, which is dedicated Inari, the Shinto God of rice and thousands of vermilion torii gates.

Hurry, hurry, hurry…
Always time for a group photo.

The Tō-ji temple complex is worth a visit. The complex contains various structures covering the Kamakura, Muromachi, Momoyama, and Edo periods.

Nishiki Market

If you’d like to try all flavors of Japanese cuisine, this is the place to go. They’ll even seat you down for a $10 portion of strawberries!

Gion

Also known as the geisha-district in Kyoto. We did not spot any geisha’s anyways– probably scared alway by the hordes of tourist that were overflowing this other very pittoresque neighborhood (and, they should be left alone anyways).
