Granted, we’re only covering Murcia and the Calpe area. So many things to see, and there is always a reason to come back, cafe cortado<\/em> not being the last…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Murcia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Murcia is a sleepy town situated south of Alicante. It certainly does not draw the enormous of tourists like Barcelona, and that was somewhat refreshing during my stay. The ice cream did not taste any less delicious because of that! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like any other self-respecting Spanish city, there is a beautiful cathedral, which was undergoing some renovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calpe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Like many other seaside towns on the east coast of Spain, Calpe found its origin with the fishing industry. These days, its little harbor is dwarfed by the tourist industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altea<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Famous for its beautiful cathedral and cozy square. First, you need to climb some serious stairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(El Castell de) Guadelest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Walking in this little town makes you wonder if a fantasy<\/em> world really existed centuries ago. Let’s talk about castles that seem to balancing on a high rock. What is left over, after some battles and earthquakes, is very impressive and makes you wonder how all was built in the 11th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
